McLENDON-McDOUGALD GYM/DURHAM It’s the home opener for both basketball teams at N.C. Central, and each is still looking for its first victory of the season after two road losses.
For the men’s team under first-year head coach LeVelle Moton, about all that has been established is that the Eagles aren’t ready for the ACC. So far they’ve played a killer schedule. But they’ll be clear favorites tonight when they take the floor against Division III N.C. Wesleyan (0-1).

LeVelle Moton will make his home debut as head coach at N.C. Central tonight, as the Eagles look to get him his first victory in the nightcap of a basketball doubleheader at McLendon-McDougald Gym.
The Eagles will take on Division III N.C. Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m., following a 5:30 p.m. women’s contest between NCCU and Campbell.
Forward Lamar Pittman, who tore his ACL a year ago in preseason practice, is expected to make his debut as an Eagle tonight.
The women’s team will still be shorthanded as Chasidy Williams, the leading returning scorer from last season is on the injury list and unable to go.
