Is BTB Dead?
Several people have written to ask, What happened to Dr. de Gama? Where’s Lunsford Lane? Is BTB really mort?
To which I answer: I don’t know. I do not know — never knew — who wrote BTB. Like all its faithful readers, no doubt, I’ve made my guesses. But all my suspects denied it, and gave me plausible reasons to doubt that they were actually capable of it, frankly.

As for the suspicion in some quarters that I wrote it, or co-wrote it, I’ll just say that no one who knows me or knows my writing style ever thought that. Nor does what I know about Raleigh go back far enough, or deep enough, for me to have done it, with or without help. I’ll say this: Those anonymous guys (gals?) were good.
